Full stereoscopic 3D Coming to Xbox 360?
While it may not be fishing at the same speed and success as a high-definition 3D provides the next challenge for manufacturers of televisions and electronics. In the gaming arena, the PlayStation 3 is currently the only console provides full stereoscopic 3D, but according to industry sources, this is not the case for long. Rumors are now shown on Microsoft adding stereoscopic 3D on the Xbox 360 in the near future with an announcement of the move at this year's E3 seem increasingly likely.
Owner of an Xbox 360 and a TV supports 3D are currently able to enjoy games such as Black Ops, and Crysis 2 in the glorious third dimension, but with two images are combined to produce the final image 720p.
This is obviously not tap into the console, the full potential, at least according to a source claims from € gamers. The secret insider view of the fact that Microsoft has not released a firmware update in full stereoscopic 3D – is just one sign that the company is waiting to announce it – a fully rendered 720p image presented to each eye.
Although it is still a minority of players who can play their games in 3D, and probably an even smaller group that could tell the difference between the two types of 3D technology, there is no reason why not offer a system the best visuals, it is capable of. Gaming is the future of 3D, after all.
What can be the greatest surprise is that the hardware appears within the Xbox 360 is still capable of expectations this long after its introduction. With more and more functions, roll-out with firmware updates and new disc formats, the major console makers can only keep pace current consoles by 2014, as they have planned.
We do not know what will be the next discovery in relation to, but it's already like Microsoft will make a long list of announements at E3. With no shortage of triple-A titles to hype up release for a fall and holiday, and a massive increased Kinect library, the addition of stereoscopic 3D support full at the end is a throwaway mention.
